Time to put these somewhere easier to find. The Academy's uniforms are, as always, entirely optional and free to alter to your heart's content. The ones listed here are the barebones defaults. You can change colors, change patterns - whatever you like. Noone will pout at you, I promise. Once you are in the SG, the Purple and Gold colors will be available to you on a handy dandy swatch, as will the emblem. Don't fret about getting them wrong - once in the SG, you can't! Onwards! Excellent work, I like the fact you have one for both mentors and students, though I can see at least a set of pistols and a beret on Diabhal's avatar. And yes, I'm burning time til I get off work tomorrow, lol.

Lady Vaporia finally finished massive alterations to her Mentor Uniform so that it'll actually fit without crushing, bending, or snagging on her fins.

Looks pretty good, Spartan. Nice job! And Lady Vaporia... Wow... I knew there was a reason I dug a more ethnically diverse group of chicks... Limiting yourself to one or two colors is so blase... lolz

I just want to mention that if you change the uniform beyond what is recognizable as something associating you with your peers then it is no longer a uniform. Each of these groups retain the individuality of their members but have distinct uniforms that conform with one another to varying degrees. By all means do as you please when you modify your uniform but keep in mind what you will look like in the class picture next to all of your peers. Also, for those of us with power armor I would like to point out the character development questions that arise when we change the color of our armor to match the school. It may be worth establishing how you go about changing the look when your suit may be something unique and precious. Holographic matrices? Malleable pigments? Cell phone style clip-on cases? Water Color? Spare suit? Or, perhaps you're happy to simply explain that the armor doesn't change. Such a route is as legitimate as any other. Cheers

Couldn't help but say this... Green Lantern kicks ass... lol! On a different note, though, I completely agree with the posts by sailormeff and Force. Especially Force. I love the look of Lady Valporia and Storm Dragon. They are great looking characters. But they really don't show any real representation of the Academy. But I also don't think it's that big of a deal, either, especially since Dart noted in his original post that they were completely optional.

I just want to clarify that I'm not here to step on anyone's creativity. There's just a few thing sto conider from the super hero team angle. Sometimes a team member just doesn't wear the uniform, either, but is so iconic that it doesn't matter. Hell, Storm usually refuses to wear anything that has the logo on it. To use my own characters as an example, Jason Dimes aka Night Shift curently thinks the uniform is rediculous but if he has to wear it on school outings he will... underneath his jeans and his jacket. The most we'll see of the M.A.I.D. in a uniform is the emblem might change to the school's seal but even that's a stretch. Kala'k Jin will probobly never don the school colors or crest in his power armor. His armor is a unique piece of art that is both his heritage and an announcement of his accomplihments. It's too unique to be altered for uniform's sake. Also, nice tats

You never have to wear the uniform if you don't want to. You never have to wear the uniforms as they appear in the OP if you don't want to. You can change the uniforms as they appear in the OP as much as you want, if you don't like how they look, they don't fit your character concept, or you just plain like something else better. While I love the look of a group with a unifying theme like the Green Lantern Corps have, it is by no means something that will ever be enforced - at most, I'll do what I did earlier, and tease someone for wearing a bikini and thong as a uniform. Unless I am contacting you privately and using my Officer Voice, your take on the uniform is absolutely acceptable and no one should be giving you any hell, good-intentioned or otherwise, for deciding to wear something else. Even if it's a thong.

There is a default uniform, for the New Mutants flavor.
But they're fully customizable, for the X-Men vibe.
Both valid, both shot for, both kickass.

Essentially, it's the best of both worlds.
For those that don't want to stress about it or prefer to go the New Mutants route, there's a standard uniform that looks very nice.
For those that want to stretch a bit farther or go forthe X-Men look, they have a starting point to modify, or a guideline to work from, but they're free to explore.
All that said, Meff did raise a good point, which I'd sum up like this:
If you're going for a school uniform, remember that if you veer too much from the "official standard", it may simply end up not being the effect you're going for. that might be fine for you, or it might not. But it's worth being cognizant that what you intend and what you deliver may be two separate things. I can't tell you if that's the case, though-- it's something each person has to keep track of on their own, the question of "what am i going for" versus "what have I actually got".
